Las Nubes Project

Welcome

Las Nubes, a project of York University's Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change in Toronto, Canada, is located in the Southern region of Costa Rica and supported by the Fisher Fund for Neotropical Conservation. It aims to safeguard the biological, cultural, and social values of the communities living in the Alexander Skutch Biological Corridor.

Study in Costa Rica

Las Nubes Project offers two programs during the year, the Summer Abroad and the Reading Week Programs. Through these programs, students are given an unprecedented opportunity to interact with and learn from the local rural Costa Rican communities through first-hand lessons on tropical ecology, sustainability, indigenous education, arts, health, and conservation.

The Grounded Project

Grounded is a series of documentaries filmed in Costa Rica that gather experiences of people whose livelihoods are substantially linked to the earth and whose interactions with the environment not only reveal the structural elements that constrain the pursuit of social and ecological wellbeing, but also the opportunities that these experiences offer for the construction of alternative ways of living.
