We are pleased to announce the international conference Comunidades y Saberes: Hacia una Praxis Académica Situada, Participativa y Decolonial – Communities and Knowledges: Toward a Situated, Participatory and Decolonial Academic Praxis.
Co-organized by the Universidad de Costa Rica & York University, the conference will be held in San José, Costa Rica, July 8–10, 2026. We invite participants from diverse fields—including environmental studies, social sciences, humanities, arts, education, and beyond—to examine the relationships between communities and academia. Contributions aligned with the conference thematic axes, such as participatory methodologies, epistemic diversity, decolonial praxis, collaborative storytelling, and community-engaged research, are especially encouraged.
