The Alexander Skutch Biological Corridor is a small area where the Las Nubes Project of the Faculty of Environmental Studies of York University, Toronto, Canada, has recorded the 285 species found in this field guide. Preserving the integrity of the Corridor is crucial for maintaining the habitat of these birds, which include 47 migratory species, 41 altitudinal migrants, 23 endemic species, and 11 near threatened or vulnerable species.
